Lompoc Empty Bowls 2018
For a donation of $25 participants choose a beautiful handmade bowl, enjoy a meal of delicious soup, bread and water, and take home the bowl as a reminder of the meal’s purpose: to feed the hungry in our community.
Where do the proceeds go?
Last year, the Foodbank provided 1.3 million pounds of nutritious food to more than 25,000 children, families, seniors and adults in Lompoc in partnership with more than 30 non-profit partners such as Catholic Charities, Cornerstone Church, CAC, People’s Self Help Housing, CALM, Department of Veterans Services, and many more. The Foodbank also operates programs such as Brown Bag for seniors, Kids’ Farmers Market, and Mobile Farmers Market & Food Pantry to support the nutritional health of Lompoc residents.
Just last year, we opened Alma Cena Sana, a weekly healthy community center that provides the community with peer nutrition educators, fun exercise classes, cooking demonstrations, fresh produce and healthy groceries, and more.
