ONE MILLION MEALS…AND MORE

We are Jacob and Joseph Mansbach, 19 and 17 year old brothers from Santa Barbara.  In 2012 we founded a fundraising and triathlon team to raise awareness of hunger issues facing children across our county.  Since then, we have partnered with our friends and community to raise funds to provide food to food insecure children, families and seniors.

Since 2012, JOINJACOB has raised over $125,000 for the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County, providing one million meals to people facing hunger.

In 2021, we reached our goal, with the support of our community.  Providing one million meals is remarkable, and yet, the impact of the pandemic continues to be felt by many in our community.  And there is more that we can do — more meals to provide, more people to help.

The brothers continue to focus on fighting food insecurity through innovative projects. Jacob launched a project in 2022 in partnership with Sodexo, an international food services and facilities management organization, to create a software program to address food waste at Sodexo sites across the nation.  To learn more, contact Jacob at jacob@mansbach.com.

Joseph has focused his energies on community-based food security solutions.  He launched a research project to understand the key components to a successful program to address food security.  Joseph has interviewed many experts in the fields of public policy and food security and in the fall of 2023, Joseph completed a research paper with his findings entitled, “A Landscape Analysis on Sustainable and Scalable Community-Based Solutions for Food Insecurity”. To learn more, contact Joseph at joe@mansbach.com.

What started as a concern for the kids of our community has grown into a campaign to fight food insecurity facing children, families and seniors across our nation.
