Santa Barbara County children receiving free or reduced-priced lunches during the school year may go hungry in the summer. In many families facing food insecurity, kids are going to bed hungry instead of playing outside all day and sleeping well knowing where their next day’s meal will come from.
No school = no lunch.
For many children, summer can mean hunger. You can help ensure children have enough to eat while our county weathers the long economic tail of the COVID-19 crisis. With your support, the children in our community will come back stronger than ever!
Foodbank summer nutrition program Picnic in the Park seeks to solve the problem of hunger during the the summer months. Together we will provide over 39,000 nutritious lunches, following all current safety protocols. See below for a list of county-wide lunch sites, dates and times.
Thanks to our amazing 2021 sponsors for helping make this Picnic in the Park possible!
