Cal-Fresh Outreach Assistant

  • Minimum Age: 21
  • Commitment and shifts vary – need volunteers who have a flexible schedule
  • Duties: set up table, man table, educate the community about Cal-Fresh (formally known as food stamps), sign up people for Cal-Fresh

Site Assistant for Healthy School Pantry Program (Health Fair)

  • Minimum Age: 18
  • Commitment: one weekday afternoon per month ongoing
  • Shift: Second Thursday of every month from 2:30-6:30pm
  • Duties: distribute food to kids and families and serve as a site assistant
  • Ability to speak Spanish is preferred
  • Physical Abilities: must be able to lift 25 pounds

Teach Nutrition to Kids

  • Minimum Age: 18
  • Commitment: one weekday afternoon per month from September – May
  • Shift: approximately 3:30-5:30pm (shift times vary by location)
  • Duties: educate kids about nutrition
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus
  • Physical Abilities: must be able to stand for the entire shift

Teach Kids to Cook

  • Minimum Age: 18
  • Commitment: one weekday afternoon per week for 7 consecutive weeks
    • We will let you know when the next class will begin
  • Shift: approximately 3:30-5:30pm (shift times vary by location)
  • Duties: teach kids how to cook
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus
  • Physical Abilities: must be able to stand for the entire shift

Distribute Food to Kids in the Summer

  • Minimum Age: 16 without parent/adult or 12 with parent/adult
  • Commitment: one or more weekday afternoons per week for as much of the summer as possible
  • Shift: approximately 12:00-1:00pm (shift times vary by location)
  • Duties: distribute food to kids and engage them in fun activities
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus
  • Physical Abilities: must be able to stand for the entire shift

Bilingual Translator
