GIS (Global Software Engineer) Programming Volunteer
In our mission to end hunger and promote good nutrition, the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County collect a variety of information about the agencies we partner with and the people who are most affected by hunger in our county. To better assess our impact, we are looking for an intern with experience with Global Imaging Software to plot our different food distribution points throughout the county, and compare them to existing resources in the area. The GIS platform would serve as a visual tool to compare Foodbank services with existing need throughout the county.
Time Commitment: We are looking for an individual who can commit 1-2 months of volunteering, for approximately 3 hours a week.

Software/App Development Intern
There is an overwhelming amount of daily prepared food waste that could be used by non-profits and their participants, but is instead ending up in the garbage. The Foodbank is seeking an intern to help research and develop a software platform that could register/track restaurants with excess food and direct the food (via volunteer power) to local non-profits. The app would track and measure the excess food to most appropriately direct it to a nearby charity.
