Santa Barbara Triathlon Team to Benefit the Foodbank
In 2012, then 8-year old Jacob Mansbach volunteered at the Foodbank and saw an opportunity to make a difference. Combining his love for triathlons with his desire to help kids in his community, Jacob took on his first Santa Barbara Triathlon and began fundraising for the Foodbank. Through his efforts, Jacob has inspired all ages to donate, volunteer and get fit.
Jacob was joined by his brother Joseph in 2013, and each summer, the boys invite a team of elementary and junior high school kids to participate. Since 2012, the JOIN JACOB team has raised an amazing $86,000 for the Foodbank. Learn more here.
In the event of an emergency, everyone’s at risk of hunger. Our newest emergency preparedness initiative, our Disaster Boxes, are designed to provide nutrition for one person for one week. For each box purchased, we will provide a second box, free of charge, to a family that cannot buy one.
End Hunger Games Corporate Challenge
The End Hunger Games Corporate Challenge allows business to compete for a cause. Companies earn points by donating food, raising money, or volunteering for the Foodbank of Santa Barbara. Stats and scores are updated weekly online, so you can follow along with action. You can also support your favorite competitor by donating on their behalf.
Table of Life 2018
Set at the beautiful Montecito estate of Stephanie and Jim Sokolove, this year’s Table of Life garden party and gala honors two of Santa Barbara’s own heroes, Alison Hardey of Jeanine’s Bakery and Patrick Braid of Village Cheese & Wine, who opened their hearts and businesses to hold the community together after the January 2018 Montecito Debris Flow.
Bringing together local chefs, winemakers and foodies, this year’s gala supports disaster preparedness initiatives that will build resilience and ensure all Santa Barbara County residents stay healthy during future emergencies.
Through your generosity, we hope to meet a $350,000 goal to support the nutritional health of our community when disasters strike.

Santa Maria Empty Bowls 2018
For a $25 ticket donation, Empty Bowls guests choose a beautiful handmade bowl, enjoy a simple meal of soup, bread and water, and take home the bowl as a reminder of the meal’s purpose: to feed the hungry in the Santa Maria community.
Santa Maria Empty Bowls will feature a raffle extravaganza that includes local wines, restaurant and entertainment certificates, jewelry, and much more—something for everyone! Raffle tickets may be purchased with your event ticket or at the door.

We hope to collect over 3,000 turkeys to distribute to families in need this holiday season. If you’d like to help, please bring a turkey to either of our drop-off locations or donate online via our Virtual Food Drive.

Join the Foodbank for the 21st ANNUAL Santa Barbara Empty Bowls
Empty Bowls is a community event to end hunger alongside neighbors and friends. Local restaurants donate delicious fresh soup and bread. Guests savor the meal in one-of-a-kind bowls created by local ceramicists, then take the bowls home to treasure as a gift and reminder of hunger in our community. After your lunch, tour the Foodbank next door and learn about ways to get involved.
