Healthy School Pantry is a monthly after-school health fair for children and families, offering nutritious food, cooking demonstration, CalFresh workshops and much more.
In 2006, we launched this new program as part of our Produce Initiative delivering in season fruits and vegetables on a weekly basis to six nutritionally underserved communities countywide.
Each week six Foodbank Mobile Farmer’s Markets deliver and distribute fruits and vegetables to and through community centers and churches.
In January 2021, the Older Adult Nutrition Program transitioned to a home delivery service for low-income seniors who are homebound and/or have no social support to pick up food on their behalf.
The Santa Barbara County FOOD ACTION PLAN is the result of a broad and diverse community effort to examine the opportunities and challenges of the region’s food system – which includes the growing, harvesting, processing, packing, transporting, selling and eating of food as well as the disposing of food waste.
