For many children who receive free and reduced-price meals during the school year, summer means hunger. 84% of children in our county who receive free or reduce-price lunches during the school year don’t receive any meal assistance during the summer.
No school = no lunch.
The Foodbank’s summer nutrition program, Picnic in the Park, seeks to solve the problem of hunger during the summer months. Together, we will provide over 25,000 nutritious lunches to children in need.
To keep local kids healthy this summer, our Picnic in the Park program provides free healthy lunches for any child under 18. No paperwork required. Kids simply arrive and enjoy a yummy lunch at a safe location!
Additionally, there will be fun physical and educational activities to participate in at the parks!
