BUILDING READINESS: Campaign for a Hunger-Free Tomorrow

The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County must replace our deficient south county warehouse with one that has the capacity to accommodate the local need for daily and emergency food distributions. We need to be able to distribute food in a timely way to feed our community’s hungriest families, seniors and children.

Like everything we have accomplished since 1982, we are looking to dedicated community members to help us achieve this goal. Your support will better equip our neighbors and community to recover from crises and enjoy all the benefits of a healthier future.

End Summer Hunger

For many children who receive free and reduced-price meals during the school year, summer means hunger. 84% of children in our county who receive free or reduced-price lunches during the school year don’t receive any meal assistance during the summer.

You can help ensure these children have enough to eat.

With your support, the children in our community will thrive!

The Foodbank’s summer nutrition program Picnic in the Park, seeks to solve the problem of hunger during the summer months. Together, we will provide over 25,000 nutritious lunches to children in need.

Rebuild Santa Barbara County

As we navigate the long-term economic effects of the COVID crisis, thousands of us in Santa Barbara County face a long and difficult road of paying off debt accrued due to the pandemic.

Food will be short on tables in many of our neighbors’ households for years to come.

Join Jacob

We are Jacob and Joseph Mansbach, 18 and 16 year old brothers from Santa Barbara. In 2012, we founded a fundraising and triathlon team to raise awareness of hunger issues facing children across our county. Since then, we have partnered with our friends and community to raise funds to provide food to food insecure children, families and seniors. We have been working to support the Foodbank for over 10 years and since 2012, JOINJACOB has raised over $125,000 for the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County to provide ONE MILLION MEALS to kids and people facing hunger across our county.

What started as a concern for the kids of our community has grown into a campaign to fight food insecurity facing children, families and seniors across our nation. Today, in 2022, we continue our work to provide food to all who are at risk of hunger across our county. There is more to do – more meals we can provide, more people we can help, more lives we can improve. Our fundraising goal of $10,000 this year will provide meals and continue our work to end food insecurity.
