What is Hunger Action Month?
September is Hunger Action Month, when we ask everyone in America to take action to fight hunger in their community, all month long. Hunger Action Month is your opportunity to join a movement that has a real and lasting impact on our effort to feed more Americans than ever before. Whether it’s by advocating and raising awareness, making donations, or volunteering, individuals can find the way that’s right for them to make a difference during Hunger Action Month.
How will you get involved? Check out this calendar for some ideas. Our top 3 suggestions are:
- If you’re an Santa Barbara County resident, give to the Foodbank through the Bank of America Give A Meal Triple Match beginning September 8.
- Donate to the Foodbank monthly through our “Harvest of the Month” club for the greatest impact year-round and select “Monthly” for “How often do you want to make this donation?” Regular donations are greatly appreciated and make for easier budgeting and financial forecasting.
- Social media savvy? Like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter and tell us what you’re doing this #hungeractionmonth and inspire your friends and followers to take action with these images. Thanks!
