Smoothies can be a healthy way to start your day, but when eating breakfast you want to consume something that will give you long lasting energy. While fruit contains lots of important vitamins and nutrients, smoothies made of only fruit can leave you feeling hungry. Fruit does not provide protein, which is key to all-day energy.
A super easy way to fix this is to simply add a bit of peanut butter! The protein, fiber and healthy fat in peanut butter is really good at slowing down your digestive processes, giving your system more time to monitor what’s coming into your body and prevent unhealthy blood sugar spikes.
